Entertainment only. The coastline is a stylised, heavily simplified rendering of public geographic outlines; every hazard, route and damage number in this game is invented for arcade play. Nothing here depicts real-world conditions, positions or events.
What the game is
You captain a container ship from a harbour on the western side of a stylised strait to a gate on the eastern side. The crossing takes between five and ten minutes depending on the route you pick and how hard you push the throttle.
Two things can go wrong, and they are tracked separately. Your hull takes damage and can sink you. Your cargo takes damage and cannot — losing the entire manifest just means you finish with a much smaller score. That split is deliberate: a cautious run that lands most of the cargo often beats a fast run that arrives empty.
Four routes, four trade-offs
The lanes are unmarked in-game. Buoys and the chart hint at where they run, and the HUD shows your multiplier once you are inside one.
Deep-water lane
Wide and forgiving, baseline hazard density, 1.00x score.
Musandam hug
The longest way round and the safest. 0.65x hazards, 0.85x score.
Anvil cut
Threads the island cluster. 1.30x hazards, 1.25x score.
Northern squeeze
Narrow and unpleasant. 1.35x hazards, 1.60x score.
Salvage and shore fire
Containers drift in the shallows around the small islands. Each one you collect restores cargo value and pays a score bonus. Over half of them sit inside the range of a shore battery, which is the entire point — the reward is where the fire is.
Battery fire is a nuisance rather than a threat. It costs a few percent of hull across a whole run, enough to make hugging an island a decision rather than a free lunch.
Controls
On desktop: W and S for the throttle, A and D or the arrow keys for the helm, Space for a hard turn, P to pause. The mouse wheel zooms.
On a phone, hold it in landscape. A thumbstick appears on the left and four face buttons on the right — when an incoming shot is flagged, press the button the game names before the timer runs out.
Common questions
Is it free?
Yes, and there is nothing to download or install. It runs in the browser on desktop and on mobile.
Do I need an account?
No. You enter a name and pick a side, and that is enough to post to the leaderboard.
Is this a simulation of real shipping?
No. The map is a heavily simplified, deliberately distorted rendering of public geographic outlines, and every hazard, route and damage figure is invented for arcade play.
